Candles, Music & Other Mood Enhancers Know someone with high blood pressure? Or maybe a super mom? How about that workaholic on your gift list? Anyone living in our fast-paced world could use some kickback time to relax and de-stress. Aromatherapy is big these days so you shouldn't have any trouble finding scented gifts. Some ideas . . . · CD's or tapes of nature sounds. My favorite is thunder storms. · Indoor fountains for the soothing sound of gurgling water. · Inscense or potpourri. · Scented candles. They say vanilla is good for relaxing. You might want to include several of these in a basket or give a gift certificate with a promise to take the recipient on a special shopping excursion.

Lotions, Bubble Bath & Other Spa Gifts Anyone who enjoys a long soak in a warm tub would appreciate a collection of nice bubble bath. Even a guy who is on his feet all day would appreciate a stimulating foot soak.
· There are whole stores devoted to lotions and potions that pamper. · And of course there are a multitude of books available on how to make your own at home. If you've given homemade lotions, bath salts, etc. before and they were a hit you might want to include the "recipe" or the book itself. · Gift certificates are available at most beauty salons. Anything from a manicure or pedicure to a facial or herbal wrap is a great gift. If there's a local cosmotology school you might want to "do the works" since their prices are usually quite a bit lower than a salon. · If you really want to pamper someone why not find a local massage professional and give a certificate for a full body massage. You can find reputable professionals through physical therapy clinics.

Cooking & Recipes Do you have a secret recipe someone raves about? What about that cake you always win blue ribbons for at the fair? Or maybe you make truffles to die for. Are you an expert when it comes to feeding a crowd? Perhaps your forte is fancy dinners or parties. Someone may just want to spend some special time in the kitchen with you. And food always seems to taste better when someone else does the cooking. Whatever the case, the fastest way to ANYONE'S heart is definitely through the stomach. You can whip up your specialty and add the recipe. You might want to give the non-perishable ingredients, recipe and directions for making it themselves - especially if you have to mail the gift. You can even present an I.O.U. for you to cook the meal, treat, or whatever at their house. Don't forget that hard working significant other who loves breakfast in bed. Give a bed tray with a subscription to his or her favorite magazine or newspaper plus a promise certificate for breakfast in bed once a month for however many months you choose. |

Lessons Pass a craft on to the next generation. Do you have a talent? Are you an expert at anything? Maybe someone you know would like to learn the how to, wherefore or whatever. Share your abilities with those you love.
1. Create gift certificates either on your computer or handcrafted. Spell out what the recipient will learn, how many lessons, how long they'll be, etc. 2. If tools of the trade or other supplies are involved, you might want to give some or all of those needed for the lessons. 3. Package everything up nicely and you have a unique gift no one else can give.
Don't forget to have a graduation certificate ready when the classes are complete. |
