Family Trivia Game
Learn all about your family history with this homemade game.

WHAT YOU NEED:
· Index cards - colored or white
· Colored Markers if using white cards
· Pens
· Dice
· Optional:  photographs, tape recordings, game boards

CREATING THE GAME:  The trivia questions will all focus on family members, their activities and major events in their lives.
· Decide what categories you will create.  Ideas:  Middle Names, Maiden Names, Years of High School Graduation, Anniversaries, Birthdays, etc.
· Use a colored markers to draw borders on the cards.  One colored border for each category you are creating.  (e.g. Red for birthdays, blue for middle names, etc.)
· Write questions on each card within each category.  (e.g. on a red card: "When is Aunt Mary's birthday?")  Get everyone involved to come up with the best selection of questions.
· You may want to add questions about old family photographs (maybe identifying baby pictures), tape recordings (lullabies or stories recorded for the grandkids - who's singing, etc.)
· If you choose to, create a game board.  Use heavy cardboard (an old cut-up corrugated box or even wood if you feel industrious.  Paint or draw with markers, creating whatever board you want.

PLAYING THE GAME:  You can then play the game in any number of ways - individually or in teams, on a game board or just as a quiz contest. Roll the dice and either move on the board to one of the categories or assign numbers to each category and draw questions that correspond to the number. If you don't opt for the board, just give cards to the person when they get an answer right.  Whoever has the most cards at the end, wins!
